Rails SCSS support is deprecated in March 2019. An IT support ticket was raised to help investigate this issue:
http://staff.lib.virginia.edu/systems/libsys/reqd.php?id=25609&rt=2&e=1
The current version of CentOS is too old to support the tools to install the new replacements. The OS is also very old and needs to be updated. To that end, get a new server set up for it and move TrackSys.
Server needs to me VM or actual hardware (not Docker) as TrackSys does a fair amount of heavy lifting (large batches of image processing & OCR). Coordinate with Bob/Tim to get done and shut off old servers once it is working.
Requirements
- Latest CentOS
- RVM instead of rubyenv
- Ruby 2.5.1
- Nginx & puma (preferred) - if not possible, Apache & Passenger (latest)
- Shibboleth on all /admin URLs
- imagemagick
tesseract: This is no longer required. The cloud OCR service is now used by TrackSys
- exiftool: sudo yum install perl-Image-ExifTool
- kdu_compress
- Access to same shared mounts as current system
- Does mysql user need to be updated to hand access from new server?
