The digital object viewer application will be a stateless, read-only web application that in some circumstances requires authentication (netbadge), but in most does not.

Ideally the deployment architecture would support the following:

• easy updates
  • resulting in no downtime
  • requiring no coordination with other teams
• effective monitoring
  • polling to determine if content is accessible
  • notification when actual user requests fail
